Who Are We?

The North Coast Integrative Care Website and Facebook Page are the epicenter of a growing network of support and resources related to integrative and complementary care for our Clatsop County community. It is a resource for healthcare organizations, healthcare workers, integrative care providers, local businesses and schools, and individuals seeking to learn about or find integrative / complementary care practitioners and opportunities.

What is Integrative Care?

Integrative care, also known as complementary care, is described by the National Center of Complementary and Integrative Health (NIH) as an approach to healthcare that brings conventional and complementary approaches together in a coordinated way to support a person’s overall well-being. It could also be described as “whole person” or holistic care, in which care and support are not limited to addressing physical disease symptoms, but are aimed at addressing the whole person.

Integrative care approaches may address and support social, emotional, spiritual, mental, psychological, environmental, and energetic aspects of one’s overall well-being. Integrative, complementary care does not replace conventional healthcare, but complements conventional medicine and treatments.
